Hi, just wanted to say that I grew up in an area in TN that was predominantly black/african american and you can see from my profile, that I'm caucasian. Never made any difference to me and I went to school where the population was 80+% black. I was a minority there. I was always marveled and amazed (in a good way) about the styles of 'black hair'. I swear, nothing is cuter than seeing little black girls hair braided in these gorgeous braids with beads in the ends. Bless those girls for sitting so still for all that!!!!! I've always envied black hair and culture for the hair styles that I could NEVER pull off!!!! I have painfully straight, boring brown hair. When I made the decision to dread, it was a very personal one and one that I embraced and continue to embrace. Like you, though, it is not who I am or what defines me. I am a wife, mom, owner of a candle company, lover of animals and nature, and thankful for every blessing that has been given to me.Anyway, I read through the other thread and wanted to send you a message. It seemed as though the other thread somehow took a turn about a racial issue and hair and I'm not sure what's up with that!!Peace and love to you! Have a fantastic weekend!!!

welcome um i gotta warn u though interlocking is well known to be 1 of the worse things u can do to dreads and can cause them to fall right offafrican hair survives alot more torture like that but is in no way immune to the severe weakness interlocking causesi would strongly advise u to just stop it its completely pointless to do and can cause severe issues including dreads too weak to suport theyre own weight
