Corrina, have you made you hair into sections yet?...if not, it is best to let it do it all on it's own, naturally. In a couple of weeks you will see that the hair went where it wanted to go. Just divide any large sections. naturally developed sections will not have a grid look or a square look, they will be random...peace
Hi Corinna, the mature dreads will be the size of the section where it meets the scalp. They will slowly change shape, shrink and thicken up to that size. So if you have a 1 inch section where the hair meets the scalp, then you will have a 1 inch thick dread...hope this helps...Peace
the square secyion where the root meets the scalp (they dont need to be square squares just silly)
the pre dread will get many times fatter asit matures
it can start iut as thin as your pinky and get as fat as your wrist
thats why you want the section..where its connected to the scalp to be no bigger then 1 inch

Ok when we say sections do u mean the actual square sections or how fat the (don't know the technical term) pre dread is I suppose?...
they fatten up as they shrtink 1 inch at the base is the absolute biggest u want really a mix of 1/4 inch 1/2 inch and only 1 or 2 or 3 1 inch is best it would be better togo naturl then tnr

Don't want you to think I'm being ignorant!! my hair is very thing and a couple r a bit fat!! But when they turn into dreads they will compact a bit yea?...
