Some fatty fat ones. I tried to blunt most of my tips, as you can see. Also, clockwise rubbed the poop out of my poor roots, hence the poofy roots.
The bodies of the dreads are really very solidly locked up, though, probably because I used very little wax (only in the beginning) and swam in the ocean quite a bit.

and david, i highly recommend going the natural/neglect method because it is very rewarding and also much healthier for your scalp and hair
but just fyi these were backcombed and took about 9 months to get like this, even after almost coming completely undone
David - yeah, they looked awesome but were developing some problems due to being sectioned too large. I also used wax, which would've made things worse. See the photo "splitting roots, sectioned too big"
SE - yeah, i would definitely want mine hanging on my head LOL. You've piqued my curiosity, and I will try your suggestion about splitting one of these and post the results. I will be VERY surprised if it does what you say though, because these dreads came almost completely undone after backcombing and went through significant looping/shrinkage etc, and are very very hard to the touch like massively knotty.
Still, i will give it a shot and let you know. =)
hang like this? disconnected?
i bet ya if u split 1 in 1/2 the long way then roll it bACK TOGETHER IT STICKS RIGHT BAck togetrher
