Welcome. Like Eagle said, stopping wax is only the first step. That's a big one, though. But to form healthy locks, you need to get the wax out. And because wax is a hydrocarbon, it will NEVER wash out in any amount of water and normal soap. Hydrocarbons need a detergent to clean them out. This is a pain, but is absolutelynecessary. I'd be more than happy to help you with this. There are great instructions in the dreaducation page. But I can help clarify it, if you have questions.

Welcome. But wax, at best, completely prevents locks from maturing. Wax acts like a glue to hold your hair in place. It stops knots, loops, and tangles from forming. Without knots and loops, you don't get locks. Since that's all dreadlocks are.

At worst (and more common than not), wax holds water and moisture in your locks. This may not sound bad, but when water and moisture sit and can't evaporate, it becomes stagnant. This causes mold and mildew to grow in your hair. And eventually, it causes your hair to rot. But that wax will keep it stuck to your head. I had this happen to my first set. It's disgusting.

And wax is a hydrocarbon. So no amount of water and normal soap will EVER wash it all out. Wax needs a detergent and TONS of scrubbing to clean it off. As long as it stay in, hair will continue to decay and rot. And your locks will never mature past the first day you put the wax in.

The myth that wax helps lock mature comes from the fact that wax hardens. So the hardness people feel is not their hair becoming tighter. It's just the wax drying.

There is no way to create dreadlocks over night. Mature locks take about a year to form. There's no way around this without completely destroying your hair.

The lock pepppa andaccelerator are hoaxes. They don't work, and are way toexpensive. You can make your own lock peppa at home for pennies. All you need is sea salt and water.
