Hi, i'll do my best....excuse the very untechnical description..
the top is just a few pieces from mid way above my ear tied in a(loose)granny knot - the short ends tucked under and longer one down to braid.
second batch is from section just above my ear, tied in first part of granny knot (just over once) then ends pulled around each side of remaining long piceces to make a 'band,' its half knoted under the pony tail and ends braided in with remainder of hair.
I have long and short dreadies so i use the long ones to tuck the sprouts under, when i dont want them hanging out or up. Make sure your knots are loose though - i have heard it can damage your dreads if you tie them too tight or in the same place alot, mine are fairly thin and some only 4 months old so not sure if it would work on thicker or more mature dreadies. I cant tie my older ones as precisely. Maybe someone else can confirm if this could be damaging.
Can you write a description for this picture, telling us how you made the style? It looks charming. I don't understand what I'm looking at, though. I get the braid at the bottom, but the other two sections are confusing. Twists or.... tucks? Or... twists and tucks? Do you use any pins to hold it in?
