Yes Shea butter looks like it might work in your hair. Not to much though just a lil teeny bit thru the actuall hair shaft . Other than that basically just let it go sister patience is the key

Hi Chloe, you can contact Jacquie to help you with your hair care. Just go to the members tab & click that, then look at the small white tabs, one will say "hair scalp health experts", click that, now look for Jackuie's pic and contact here. These are the specialists in this field and she is one for African American textured hair.....Peace

Welcome. It sounds like you're getting the good advice about crocheting and interlocking, and such. I'm glad everyone's already gotten to you about that. Hopefully your locks will heal up nicely and you'll be comfortable with them from now on

Welcome to the community Ashleigh and fellow Canuck. I see you are doing the BS wash, great way to exfoliate the scalp, just make sure to follow up with an apple cider vinegar (ACV) rinse, unless you have extremely oily scalp, or else you will slowly fry out your hair. After you rinse out the BS, mix 1 capful of ACV to 5 cups of water and pour over head, rinse out within one minute. This will restore the hairs natural PH balance.....Peace
