Welcome. But root rubbing can cause sores on your scalp. Locks are like softer brillo pads. They can be rough on your scalp if you rub them. And palm rolling will only do 1 of 2 things. 1) Nothing at all. You'll notice that you have to palm roll every day. That means that each time did nothing. It only looks good for a few hours. 2) It will irrevocably damage your hair. If you palm roll often, you can destroy your roots so that they take years to fix themselves. Check out my video on palm rolling. I did it for a while in the beginning, and 6 years later I still am worried about them snapping off from the weight at the root

Welcome. But crocheting your locks is unbelievably damaging to them. All it does is break hairs into smaller and smaller pieces. If you only did it to start them, good. Don't use it ever again, and let them heal themselves. If you continued to use it, STOP. What happens after continued use is that eventually the hairs at the tip of your locks is no longer attached to your scalp. They are attached to other broken hairs, attached to others, and others until they finally attach to your head. This makes your locks extra weak, and can cause them to snap under their own weight and pressure. Plus, every time you use a crochet hook, because you are breaking hairs, you are causing more frizzy hairs to pop out, cause you to want to crochet them again. If you stop, they will fix themselves.
