if you want to use aloe (and have African type hair) pure aloe is what you want. you can grow it,. buy a couple large plants, 1 leaf will last you a reasonable amount of time. practice "wildcrafting' ie: only harvest about 10% of the l;eaves. to alow continual replenishment. alternately you can get a pure aloe drink from lily of the desert i believe the company was.. even then, read the ingredients, only 1 of the products have just aloe and nothing else in it..

if your African American the aloe might be ok, but you really want food grade aloe that has only 1 ingredient.. aloe. nothing more especially if it has alcohol and lots of extra ingredients
