I need some advice leave it alone or do I need to fix this some how? this dreads skinny already as it is I'd rather not split it, I don't even think its possible

Hi Brianna. I would separate them if the section at the root/scalp is larger than one inch, as it would turn into a fat dread once mature. If it is not that large (hard to tell from the photo), then you could always loosely wrap it with embroidery thread, using the criss cross pattern. There is a tutorial on this site on how to do it. Or like Ixchel said, just wait it out. Cheers, & Happy Dreading
maybe just wait it out? i have one that split like that too & i'm not really sure how i'd fix it, so i'm just leaving it be & watching to see what happens i figure they normally just take care of themselves
