If it is beat into your head enough times, one can't forget.Wanting you to learn now,not from 20/20 hindsight.

I had dirty hair in the start because sweating in the spring. So I was using baking soda as 1/2 cup per 5 cups of wam water mixed in a bottle..soaking for 15 minutes before rinsing with water...If you have an oily head before the wash, you can skip vinegar rinse...It just restores ph level to your scalp after the BS changes it...But after a wash or two,I started using little less than half cup os BS to 5 cups water...I soak 15-20 minutes,no scrubbing..just apply to scalp and dreads, wrap in a towel, and enjoy whatever you want to do until it is time to rinse...Then I rinse with a cup,be sure to squeeze matted hair so all BS is out. Then apply vinegar solution.1 tablespoon per 2 cups of water should be enough..It doesnt need to soak long, just a minute will do.Then rinse this out well also...You are free for another 3.5 days after this eh....A light rinse is good after workouts or too much sweating.but don't be rinsing too often or you will not promote knots as easily. But leaving sweat on your head in too large amount can leave salt, which can make you feel uncomfortable too.....BS washes are as basic and useful as it gets.It cleans, removes dandruff, and you feel much better after a dirty week...Thing I appreciate most from this site is learning to wash with BS...I forgot bronners and other shampoos after trying it.

I am european and african blood also.My hair is not that curly until it has more length.Mostly wavy until that point...You just need baking soda washes followed by vinegar rinse...Very standard.twice weekly.I do mine on sunday and wednesday....Other than this,I don't let car windows blast my knots out with rushing winds when driving, and rinsing your hair with a cup instead of the shower head will save you a lot of time knotting hair because it will cause less loose hair to happen....No fancy oils, nothing for fragrance, and certainly NO CROCHET OR WAX..My hair is doing quite well on my second set of locks with as much as I ignore it..My girlfriend's hair type is even more difficult to tangle and it looks wonderful now.So we don't offer empty advice...No tricks,no products, just let your hair do it's thing..."1/4 black","dominant race",and all that other silly crap aside, you're just human. And I wish you luck with your dreads.
