@ Mastachef -- I'm so glad whenever I hear other people have been watching this kid and digging his sick skills. Just like Nyjah, it's been so rad to watch him grow up from a little tiny thing into the adult he recently became (I think he just turned 18 or 19 a year or so ago). And believe it or not I think he JUST turned Pro! I know he's been doing stuff for Nike, but he's actually Pro with Baker boards now. He's got a brilliant future ahead of him (along with Nyjah and Leticia and some other gifted young ones I've been watching). I'm staying tuned. Does my old skater's knees good to see them out there. I don't know how young or old you are, but I grew up in the 70's with Skateboarder mag and the Dogtown articles. Even for land-locked midwestern kids of color like me and my friends, we were glued to so much of what was happening out here in California. Oh, the fantasies we had about riding pools on the south side of Chicago! Peggy Oki, Marty Grimes and Shogo Kubo were early heroes for us. And especially for other girl skaters like me, Peggy Oki was someone we aspired to be on our beloved banana boards! We even tried our hands at making our own boards from cast-off wood someone's dad didn't need. I don't think any of us could've imagined how skateboarding would be so much more respected today and the thriving culture around skate shoes, deck art, the X games, etc. It's beyond awesome x0x
