Stretching My EarLobes

I was wondering if anyone here can suggest what gauge to stretch my ears because my reasons for wanting to do this is because I can only wear gold and gold is expensive and I am in need another earring for one of my pierced ears that is going to close. I can't afford another gold earring so I thought it would be a good idea to enlarge the hole in each of my earrlobes a bit so that I can make polymer clay earrrings to fit. I am not talking about doing it myself but just wondering what number gauge should I get if I just want to enlarge the a bit. Thank you to anyone who knows the answer.
