Separating difficulties

By Salem Haley, 2013-09-09
Hey guys! So it hasn't even hit my 2 month mark of my locks. I'm doing it naturally & using the bs & acv wash at least twice every 2 days. While separating I never aggressively pull pieces apart. Sometimes I get scared to even touch them so I've just been letting them rock. But lately now the back of my head is becoming suuuuuper crazy. This one spot has locks all connecting to each other & it looks pretty messy. I do love congos & I wouldn't mind if I had one coming in but this mess in the back is extreme. Is there any methods of separating? Keeping em separated? Or will they just do as they please anyway? Some tips would be great thanks!

Impatience

By Abigail Ranic, 2013-09-08

Well, I got really tired of having three dreads just sticking up everywhere. So I just did the twist and rip method on the majority of my hair. Except for my bangs(which I am not dreading at the moment). Keep in mind, my hair is extremely short, the shortest part is probably three inches. And it's just a ball in the back of my head. I don't know quite what to do. I would really appreciate anything, any advice. Thank you!

Dread Comments

By Kerry LoCo, 2013-09-06

Last night, I noticed a man looking at me while shopping in WD. He finally stopped me in one aisle and asked if I was growing dreadlocks. I said I was trying to, but it was taking a long time, and he laughed. He said they looked good and to hang in there. He said he had long ones once and cut them off and regretted it. His head was shaved on the sides with only a skull cap of short dreads on top.

So funny, after over 6 months, I've only had 2 comments, both positive. Lots of ugly faces made, but I always smile back which confuses them and they mostly end up smiling back. Best way to handle it so far.

Wet dreads

By ramblingrum, 2013-09-04
My hair dries very slowly. I generally try to let it air dry but it can take hours! I sometimes blow dry on low (using a diffuser), I know it can dry out your scalp a bit but I've had no problems. Any one else have to blow dry or have input on this problem?
