It has been awhile but I thought I would come say hi for a min! I have been busy with life and on a much deeper spiritual path then I ever have before.
I just wanted to say that I mean no disrespect AT ALL to Hindus or anyone by wearing a bindi.
I am not wearing it for fashion I am wearing it for spiritual reasons. Trying to keep myself in tune with my third eye. And as a reminder to stay true to my true self (the soul) and not of my false self (the ego).
I know most people would not have a problem with this but I know there are some who find it offensive to be worn by someone who does not have any Hindu heritage.
Oh any my dread babies are 7 months now and I am so INCREDIBLY happy to have them with me again so they can come along with me on my wonderful new spiritual journeys.

And SO true Star! Hmm I feel like I have read things before about babies and thier "pure" energy. It is an interesting thought! And or maybe they just make me seem not soweird to others LOL. "That woman is covered in tattoos and piercings I hope I am safe near her.. Oh wait she has a baby on her back and is holding the hand of another maybe she isn't so bad.." hehe
Thank you very much Amethyst! Yes it IS a very nice religion from what I know of it. That is really awesome and I hope things go nicely for you. For myself at this point in my life there is no religion I want to be. I just want to learn, love, grow and evolve. There are things from lots of religions I agree with (more like morals and such). But I have no interest in labeling myself anything but spiritual and for me at this point in my lifethat feels absoloutely perfect! Goodluck on your spiritual journeys whether in religion or not. <3 <3
Babies sometimes have this amazing power to bring people together. Maybe cause they are still made up of so much raw energy?
I think you're beautiful and I love the Bindi. I think the Hindu religion is beautiful and have been contemplating visiting a Hindu Temple that is about 20 mins from where I live. I have fallen in love with the beliefs and found that I haven't changed my beliefs at all because of it, because the Hindu beliefs were already exactly the way I believed. A Hindu friend told me that I was born Hindu I try not to do labels of any sort, but if I'm Hindu then so be it. I will keep on believing what I have always believed. As for the Bindi, my Hindu friend says "why should anyone care?" The Hindu's believe there are many paths to the same God It looks beautiful on you and if I had one or ever come across one that I like, I will wear it proudly Take care!
Just had to comment and say I went on small trip yesterday and came across a Hindu couple. The first since wearing a bindi. And I got the biggest and warmest smiles from the woman. Much more then any other person I encountered that day. I must say I was a bit nervous but we smiled to each other and looked at each others babies and smiled to each other some more. Yay!
Thank you! <3 <3
love the ink on your chest . Dreadies look great too . You rock a bindi !!
Well that is true about the swastika and sad. In fact I myself had no idea there was anything else but Hitler's use of them for a long time.. Which does point to using another religions symbols for something else could be bad. But I don't think most people are mini Hitlers hehe.
Thank you <3
It's a shame how Hitler took images from other cultures and completely bastardized them. TheSwastika he turned around. But now even if you see it drawn right, all you think about are Nazis. He took the Eagle from Roman soldiers, and now all you think about are Nazis. There was a third image, but I can't remember it now. But again, all you can think about are Nazis.
Wear that with pride. Even if someone takes offence, you arewearingit for noble reasons. Don't listen to them. Some people are too self conscious and too sensitive about their own heritage
Thank you Nae <3
Yes it is a really wonderful experience to do so too. I am learning so much about myself and life and it all is in a really positive direction! I just want to grab everyone and bring them along with me but darnit it is not my place to!
I really contemplated it for a while. Did a lot of reading too. In the end I decided I am wearing it coming from a place of goodness. And wearing it has meaning to me. You can't please everyone and no matter what someone is going to be offended by something. Most of the things I read coming from actual Hindu people themselves said they didn't mind at all but lots are curious about why someone such as myself would choose to wear them. But it definitely was not offensive to them.
I have read from a small handful of Hindus that they were extremely offended as well.. But again I made my decision with all of the above in mind....
For me I don't really find any of it offensive or wrong. Of course I am not any of these religions.. But I think if people find beauty or inspiration in things that happen to be others religious symbols, it really is no big deal. I mean there were crosses before the Christianity right? And what about things like swastikas? Germans used them but you see them in India and elsewhere as well! So while something can be specific to one Religion there is a good chance it is not.
Once everyone learns to open up more to love and the oneness of us all these things I just can't see being an issue at all! I would also think most cultures would be honored that there ways are inspiring to outsiders! Unless of course ego comes into play..
Thank you! I love them much!
