That's exactly why I doubled up the fabric! Adds support. You can also just add a panel in the middle where the babe sits.
My son is 2.5 and around 27-30lbs and it works just great.I tapered the edges on mine to make tying it up easier but other than that it's just a length of fabric doubled up. I am planning to make one out of a sturdier cloth but this one is great for summer and if I do end up having a another baby it will be absolutely fantastic for a newborn as well.
Jersey even for the bigger babies I thought wasn't as supportive? My little guy is 2 and around 30 pounds I think (may be more now not sure). Sounds really easy though!
And I have seen people do that with their woven wraps! I so want to get a hook up somewhere even if just for fun haha!
Thanks! Definitely do! All one of kind! I wish I had the extra cash the website has some colors up now I would love! Oh well I love this one too!
If you get a jersey typed fabric all you have to do is cut it to the right size. No sewing involved at all!
My current one is only sewn because I double layered the fabric.
You can always test the sling by sitting in it yourself! You just need one of those heavy duty hooks in your ceiling like for a hammock chair.I really need to set up my hammock chair...
I will definitely be looking into Enwrapture too. That skirt is way too awesome.
Hmmm I know you can make your own but I have never really looked into it! I am just worried about making one and it being safe and strong especially for my older bigger boy. I know it totally can be done, just never tried... So props to you both!!!
And yea I got the one I am wearing but it was used. Still was not cheap but better then the new price! It is def the most money I have ever spent on a piece of fabric for sure. :O
I got my hubby to wear our youngest ONCE. And it was in an Ergo. He WILL NOT try the wrap... And the ergo really is just not big enough for him so we won't be trying that again either...
Thank you! It was 16$ and is from a company called Enwrapture I believe it is called? They make one of a kind skirts out of old indian sari's! So cool! I hade never heard of them till I came across this one on a mama swap groupon FB. Now I want lots of them! It can be worn as a skirt, a dress, a shirt. It's crazy, now I just have to learn to wrap up myself instead of my baby! xD
My current sling/wrap is made of thrift store fabric. 7 yards for $6. Can't go wrong there!
My mom bought my first sling. After looking at price tags and patterns I could not justify ever buying another one, at least not brand new anyway, because I am cheap as hell and if I think I could even attempt to make something I will refuse to buy it on principle.
I wish my husband would wear babies. He thinks it's "weird" and doesn't want to learn how to do it.
Well unfortunately it was only 16$ because it was used but your welcome.
Someday I hope to have more nayway though! Skirts are the best :D
Thanks for the info Tied up in knots!! I may have to try it sometime! xD
