Welcome. You're lucky you had to cut your locks off due to the mold instead of it just falling out. My first set rotted so bad that they actually just melted right off
welcome start washing 1-3 times a week and stop retwisting ill look at your discussion too

I recently bought the dreadlockshampoobars but I'm guessing I should do bs/acv wash as well as wax be gone
Welcome. I saw your post about your locks thinning. I didn't get a chance to look through it yet, though.
My bet would be the wax and retwisting caused it. Retwisting, like you must know by now, causes severe damage and premature balding. But it will also cause your locks, themselves, to thin. What you want to make sure you NEVER do is tie a knot in them, at the thin spot. Knots look like they'd help, but they will only cause the lock to snap right there. I had 1 that snapped on me a few weeks ago, and a few others that will, in the next few years.
I'd say that most important thing is to start getting the wax out. Wax is a hydrocarbon, so no matter how much hot water and normal soap you use, Over any length of time, it will not come out completely.
