Al it does it breaks hair into smaller and smaller pieces, and makes your locks frizzier, which makes you feel like you need to crochet more. Because of all of the broken hairs, your locks get weaker and weaker.
I hope you only used it once or twice in the very fist day of starting. Any prolonged use of a crochet hook will only promote your locks to fall out, and possibly grow mold because they are too tight for water to drain out.

welcome but the crochets a very bad idea! extremely destructive and delays progress by 6 months if used only once
