Becky, you gorgeous funky chick, you! You're beautiful! Thanks for sharing the picture.
Heidi, I gotta remember that one. My mom has begun making pretty racists remarks to me. AGAIN. I really thought we were over this. And yes, you're right, it's not right to point something out that you're probably guilty of yourself.
Fighting with my hair never felt natural. Having locks? Feels natural!!! I think anyone who makes it past month six can attest to that.

The color came before I dreaded. My hair dreads super easy it's curly. And I know just makes me mad that people are so rude to others about everything
A lot of people (some black, some white, some other races) think that dreads originated from Africa, from black people, and it's part of their culture. And because their hair dreads so easily and so many black people have dreads, people have never questioned it. It's a black hairstyle, like an afro. What people fail to understand and learn most of the time is that all hair types naturally dread, even if it takes longer sometimes, and that MANY cultures from all over the world have had dreads. So he's just a misinformed idiot who thinks only black people should have dreads, and anyone else is trying to be black, whatever that even means. Your dreads are beautiful ignore the fool.
how'd you do the pretty colorful plait? I love it :D and they are beautiful :3

It was a white guy actually haha I've had no problems, the worst thing I've ever read in my life was a blog post called to white people with dreads. It's just hair I don't see why people get so uppity we all used to have them.
I have had no personal experience with this yet (newly dreading), but I have read a lot of comments on the Internet by, or about, black people (usually women) absolutely hating white "girls" with dreads. Don't really understand why, but it seems to be a prevalent sentiment, just from my own reading and poking my nose into anything dread-related. It may be something you (we) will just have to politely ignore, or find out exactly why some people hate it so much! You should post about how this plays out in your own experience. Also, btw, they DO look great!!!
drools
Thanks guys!
