Welcome. Dreadlocks can't be "made". They have to be grown. It takes months and years to grow healthy mature, locks. Not hours.
Crochet hooks do nothing but destroy locks. It breaks hairs into smaller and smaller pieces, which weakens locks and makes them prone to snapping off at places,and even falling out at the roots.
Plus, people with locks shouldn't look like they are going bald in between their locks. If you can see scalp showing between locks, that's a sing of Traction Alpoecia: a condition that leads directly to baldness if you don't stop pulling hairs too tightly
