Welcome. The crocheting did quite a bit of damage. But from here on out, you should just wash and separate. NEVER crochet again. Throw the hook out. They will mature in time. There is no way to speed up the process. Mature locks take, on average, a year to form.

Sometimes it just takes a lot longer. Ixchel and I re 2 of those types. She didn't see any knots until 6 months. I didn't see any progress for about a year
