its a catch 22 situation,. cause to qualify for an exception they would probably need to be freeform and have deep personal meaning

but the regulations that alow women (from what i hear) still have to be worn in regulation ways. and most likely not freeform

so with the transgender ban you maybe cant become female to keep them

you could argue that although they started in a salon they gained deep spiritual or religious meaning

it wont be easy

also.. with crazier and crazier people getting in power its a scary time to join the military

you could die from a tweet.. thats not a risk i'd want to take

well if they were started in a salon they are not natural

how do you maintain them/ natural dreads are not maintained its the salon and maintenance that might get in the way of a religiousexception

are your dreads natural? if they are natural you have a better chance of justifying the religious exception (maintained or salon dreads could be argued they are just a style choice not deep personal commitment)

on the other hand the females who get exceptions (only heard of it from africasn americans) they havfe to wear them in a way that fits into the strict regulations

but if you are willing to risk your lifde  for the country they should respect your desire (they don't) toi retain some individuality  so i would fight for you if  i can i could certainly write a letter explainig why they should allow it

but if they don't accept that well you might want to consult a civil rights advocate or even the aclu

hi well you need to fight for a religious exfception

if you are  female they do make some allowances  even without the religious exception

its not easy unfortunately
