1st the best shampoo by far is www.dreadlockshampoo.com use the liquid till mature
2nd you have great instincts not wanting to do all those horrible things!
3rd all hair dreads straight hair dreads fine
and lastly finger untangling is combing just with a less damaging comb
if you simply stopped detangling it would dread right up
ps don't bother palm rolling..it does nothing at all
but your right the circular rubbing does rip 1/2 the hairs right out of the head
