Welcome. After you check out the dreaducation page, look through the timeline forums to see what the first weeks/months typically look like. It does take about a full year to for mature locks. But by the sound of it, you're going to see much faster progress
Welcome to the community Alicia. It sure sounds like you will have an easy time by growing dreadlocks, something your hair has always wanted to do. Start off by reading the dreaducation section at the top of the site, this will give you great tips. Although I did the T&R method, I have tips on my posting on what you can expect in the next few months: http://www.dreadlockssite.com/forum/topics/just-starting-out-what-to-expect?xg_source=activity
All you will need to do is wash 2-3 times a week with a dread friendly wash, let your hair naturally separate into sections, when those sections try to join onto each other, like the matting you were already having, just separate them apart. And then sit back and enjoy the ride. No more straitening, conditioners or expenses. You will have so much more time on your hands to play with the cats and girls.
Welcome to the community and to the best site on the web for all your healthy dreadie information. You are now on a fantastic journey that will take you on an amazing ride through a year with the reward of awesome mature dreadlocks. As you learned, hard water sucks for dreadlocks. Glad you are using the Dreadlockshampoo products, they are the best. ...Ask any and all question you have for your journey, we are all here to help.....peace
