Welcome to the community and to beginning of your wonderful journey to dreadlocks. Wow, you must have had very long hair, your twist & rip sections are long. The dreaducation section at the top of this site is a great place to start for great tips and info. I also started with T&R & made a posting of what to expect during the journey, you will find some useful info: (Dead URL) http://www.dreadlockssite.com/forum/topics/just-starting-out-what-to-expect/a>
Below is a map so you can see what type of water you have. With soft water, any dread shampoo or bar can be used, but with hard water, many of those do not rinse out properly and slowly leave behind a residue. If you need a fantastic one that works in all types of water, www.dreadlockshampoo.com is the bomb!
Enjoy your journey and have a fun and wild ride....peace
