"Be careful,  Avc can weaken hair, (I'm sure Soaring Eagle will give you some advice on that.  I think Vickys used Etsy now, which I think  will send to U.K...."

Uneven dreading.

Dreading is starting to speed up slowly, but not evenly  i.e.  the Right side is more dready than the left.

Think this is part due to one side (right) gets tangled in my car seatbelt and also get caught up in my work bag.

The only ways I can think to help this is

1. get a left hand drive car or a chauffer

2.  change jobs

Any ideas please?

doubt it

does it smell bad when damp?

are you losing any off the ends from the baking soda?

do me a favor

post in the dreadlocks forums section  maybe in "help save my dreads" ..with photos  in the morning i'll look it over and if needed get our best hair expert panterra to look at it too

but try those other changes ikmediately the bars and tossing the hook in the trash

if it smells while wet or damp definitely use the rot knort too

maybe the baking soda has damaged your scalp  preventing growth?  were you using it the whole time?

post every detail of how you started them how you maintained and washed  how often..and detailed photos

don't worry we can save them

my prescription

use the bars 2 or 3 times a week for now til the hairs stronger.

break the crochet hook melt it down hire a voodoo witchdoctor or witch to put a curse on it, ..maybe even defecate on it for good measure..point is make sure your never tempted to use 1 aggain

in about a month report back  on how much better they are doing

(and maybe where to get a good witch doctor for cursing crochet hooks)

ok this is very simple to fix

1 baking soda is srong enough to eat off your skin! acv dissolves a bone overnight enough to tie it in a knot.  STOP USING BAKING SODA AND ACV  when I used that  I was losig 6-10 inches off dreads liyerally every day switch to the dreadlockshampoo.com bars and they will be stronger  after just 1 or 2 washes    wash 1-3 times a week with the bars and they will get way stronger

2 crochet is evil it does nothing but break thousands of hairs making dreads way too tight, very scratchy feeling like steel wool.  extremely damaged  and it takes years to recover from 1 single use.. never ever let a crochet hook touch your dreads again

those are your 2 problems.. your weakening the hair  with harsh  chemicals and your breaking it to pieces with a hook

stop both.. switch to that shampoo (and the mold killer if you need it) and no need to shave thy will get better and better.. but crochet recoverty does take a real long time

many who crocheted  choose to start over naturally just  for healthier dreads and because its a totally more meaningful experience

but you dont need to start over...just stop causing the harm your causing

thinning is usually from force tightening the roots retwisting interlocking  sometimes crocheting (which has many other probelems) and root rubbing which pulls 1/2 the hairs right ut of the scalp

are you doing anything to maintain them or tighten the roots? or do you only wash and separate like you should

why what maintenance have you been doing .. hairs fall out  daily 120-170 but thats normal were you crocheting were you doing the baking soda wash  give me all the details (use the comment back button below its easier)

ofrcourse i see you have a mold issue

www.dreadlockshampoo.com makes rot knot  it kills mold and mildew it smells yummy  you can use a whole bottle and it rises out easy  wet hair use as much as you need saturate them squeeze it into the  core especialy the thick ones  leave in at least 10 minutes or longer rinse then wash... were you using wax ever even once to start or regular shampoos with residues/
