Welcome to the forum. Your dreads will need to recover since youcrochetedthem. You have them now, so no need to crochet them any more. To do this would only cause more damage, weakening them and increasing the chances of them breaking off. Some like to crochet to keep them looking neat, but it only breaks more hairs and makes you think that you need to crochet more often.
Wax is also bad for dreads. It only give the appearance of dreading. It's not clear from your page if you used it, but if you did you should remove it as soon as possible. Have a good read of the dreaducation tab to see that it is not just my opinion.
