Dawn dish soap. Get a big pot and fill it with the hottest water you can keep your hands in long term. Squirt a generous amount of soap in. Then, one by one, dunk each lock into the water and massage the soapy water into it for about a minute each. Then wash your hair like normal. Do this 2-3 times a week before each normal wash for about a month. It takes more time than the wax b gone, but works jest as well.
As for cleaning up loose hairs... don't They will clean themselves up. But even the most mature locks have some loose hair. They either get sucked into surrounding locks or form new skinny ones of their own. When you mess with them, you weaken the structural integrity of the lock

That's when you separate them so they don't eat hairs too far away. I posted 2 videos on how to separate if you need to check them out

if your hairs locking you dont need it
just concebntrate on removing what u used instead of adding more
