While out and about checking out some of the creeks during the recent rainstorms, I snapped a few pics of my hideous hair. Newly formed dreadlocks! Only a couple days old. They'll look pretty sh** for a long while.
I had been thinking about getting locks for a couple of years now. I researched, looked at a million pics, and asked a few friendly bloggers about their experience. After all this I can say with much confidence that I have no idea what I'm doing. lol. I suppose that's just because it's just something I've never experienced before. And while I don't necessarily have any strong emotional attachment to my hair, I was worried about spending a painful amount of time and effort into getting them, only to hate them later. The thought of chopping them off doesn't frighten me, although I would prefer that didn't happen. I'm very excited to see how these babies turn out over the next months.
Method: No product, a mixture of Backcombing, and Twist & Rip. I found I was able to keep way more length using the T&R. I hope dreads mature ok.
