That's ok. Hopefully there's no wax. Gels not much better. But at least it can be washed out. It does tend to leave a residue. You may want to look into a clarifying shampoo. Don't use it regularly. But once is ok. It should take care of the gel and any residue left behind.

I know how it feels to be strapped for time. That's why I always wash first thing in the morning. It give me the rest of the day to do whatever I need to get done

Eagle's right. Wax has never helped a single persons locks. All it does, at best, is make you look like you have locks. But what it really does is prevent locking. It glues your hair together which stops movement. Your hair needs to move freely in order to tangle and knot. If it can't move, it'll never lock up. Just look like it has. Wax also never washes out in normal soap and water. Not even BS can wash it out. Because wax is a hydrocarbon, it requires a detergent to break it down enough to wash out.

And why honey? In some shampoo, honey can be good. But not pure honey just rolled into your hair. That's gross, and will attract insects and bugs, It will also stop the locking process. Same with the gel.

Welcome. But salons are notorious for destroying locks. How did they start them? were any products used?
