Well you take the smallest one you cam find and you go in and out, but not trough a dread, just a slightly or not at all backcombed patch of hair, its not that hard...

Forgot to send you a map to see what your water type is. Many dread shampoos and bars do not work well in hard water, they tend to leave a residue build up behind. The best stuff for hard water is from www.dreadlockshampoo.com . The creator of those is also a member on this site...Should you have soft water, then lucky you, then you can use any type that you find.....peace

Lol, I just put that since there isn't a name for how I started mine. My hair is very split and brittle as is, damaging it further is probably not possible. I am not using a hook, wax, or anything but forming the base of strands with my fingers and letting them do the rest. Thanks for the info
welcome but dont bother palm rolling it does nothing but can cause permenant harm
