Welcome. Latch hooking is only slightly better than crocheting (Which is the worst thing for locks). But any time you stick a needle/hook through your locks, it does tremendous amounts of damage. If you are trying to clean up your roots, stop. The loose frizzy hair at your roots needs to be there to help tangle with new growth and pull loose hairs into your locks. If you tighten that hair, it will thin out your locks and make them weaker and weaker

if 1 stays lil flat or has a flat slpot it just makes it less boring then the round 1's
just like if everyone in a room had blue eyes and your the only 1 with green it stands out its unique and has personality so if it wants to be flat let it be flat
palm rollings pretty pointles do it a lil it does nothing well nothing that lasts more then a few hours or a day at most
do it enough to try to do something permenant and can cause permenant harm weakened roots friction/heat damage etc
all dreads require is wash9=ing and seperating and nothing else at all
