Welcome. But if you're looking for a healthy shampoo, Pantene isn't for you. It's really not good for anyone. It contains Methylchloroisothiazolinone and methylisothiazlinone, which are proven carcinogens, causing cancer in multiple organs. The factory workers who handle it in the lab are required, by law, to wear full protective suits and gloves when handling that specific ingredient.
I'm not sure which shampoo you're using, but one that I see also contains citric acid. While it's not a super strong acid, it is more than strong enough to seep into your hair shaft and deteriorate your hair from the inside out. This makes your hair brittle and weak. that's why you should never use lemon or lime juice on your locks
Yes, it is a safe conditioner for dreads, and healthy too. Just remember to wash out within one minute or it can over condition and cause knotting to slip out. Peace
Welcome to the community for healthy dreads Keila Bird...Regular will slowly leave a residue build up inside the dreads, you may want to change that soon. If you have hard water, then the shampoos and soaps from Dreadlock Shampoo are the best. For other types of water your selection of dread shampoo is greater, including Dr.Bronners. Conditioners will also do the same. You can use apple cider vinegar to get the same results. Just mix 1-2 capfuls with 5 cups water and pour over washed and rinsed out hair. You can rinse this out right away or within a minute tops. A fantastic healthy conditioner to use....Oh yeah, it is best to separate your hair when it is still wet, it is much stronger that way.....Enjoy the rest of your wild ride...Peace
