also any brush method should only be done once..the day u start never repeated

you got to leave em alone to progress

this is the long term effect of twisting

no you dont and u should stop the brushing if u retwist it will prevent hair from growing between dreads the gaps will widen the roots thin and u will go bald

stop brushing stop twisting seperate only by pulling them apart

watch the video in the dangers of retwisting

welcome

are you retwisting? it looks like you are and if so yopu should stop emedietly or it will makre you go bald

u shouldnt see scalp between dreads

the "tidy" look salons push is a medical condition that they cause on purpose

dreads should never be twisted or interlocked just wash and go thats all

Welcome to the site :) what's the brush method? I don't think I've ever heard of that method before. Wish you well on your journey, peace.

Hi Sarai, welcome to the community. You sure came to the right site to learn how to grow and keep your dreads healthy and happy. Do you now understand about sectioning? By washing and not brushing your hair, within a couple of weeks your natural hair starts to form sections. These are what will be your future dreads. If you are using a method like twist & rip, these are the sections you would use. If any are fatter than you like, you just divide that section smaller. When you force your hair into sections, sometimes that section will start to divide on its own, when it is a dread..because that is not where the section naturally wanted to divide. So whether you use a method or go free form all the way, just give your hair a couple of weeks to section for you. I have a good posting that might interest you: (Dead URL) http://www.dreadlockssite.com/forum/topics/just-starting-out-what-to-expect/a>

Enjoy the site and your future journey....peace
