twistuing never would work backcomb ids a very poor method that fails more odteb then not twist and rips way better and you did not try just letting them dread ni you would not feel it pulling on your head b43 it breaks
squeeze them do they feekl spongy or squeeky like hair grinding on eachother besides the broken hairs crochet makes them eway way way too tight stiff shy (broken hairs) they take 6 months to loosen up enough to ebven begin to dread properly they are 1/3the thickness a healthy dread would be too
its ok if you throw the hook away now they will recover you'll have some broken hairs but not enough to really cause wekness and in 6 months or so they will loosen enough to dread join the crochet recovery group
just resist all urges to crochet as maintenance if you do that you make it worse and worse.. your thicjk hair would have dreaded perfectly if u just stopped combing..that simple
welcome but disagree or not the fact remains that it does indeed break hairs..it has to in order for the needle to pass through the dread..just stop it if you want your dreads to last
