Week 1

I've made it to the end of week one! I was planning on taking daily pictures, but life catches you up! :)

My kids and I have been having fun! Playing outside, visiting their grandparents, bbqs!

I'm just really happy, starting to feel like my old self! :P

I have been wearing my hair up a lot, but have been changing the style everyday to keep it from getting too much together all the time. Every night I sleep with it down. Hope this will help from keeping too much getting…

1 week mark

I'm right around the 1 week mark on my freeform dreadlocks, and loving every minute of it. Seems like my hair was much more frustrating before, and I never liked the look of it. But even now, it seems like it suits me a lot more, perhaps now that I'm just not fighting it.

It seems to be coming along very quickly. The soap seems to help. I'd actually been using an organic herbal hand soap that we found at the grocery outlets, I checked the ingredients and it works quite well. But now…

1 Week Journal

I'm king of using the blog function as a way of journaling my progress in dreads and what's been going on in my life. This isn't necessarily meant to be deep or entertaining, just cathartic for me.

It's been a week and a day since I did tnr. It's been a very enjoyable week. I've crocheted 5 new…

My first blog about dreads

Hey! I'm kinda new to this whole dread thing. I've been interested in dreads for a long time but a few days ago I had a really strong urge to get dreads. So I googled and youtubed about people who had dreads and about how they got their dreads…

Some people had extension, which I think defeats the whole purpose. I really dislike extension but that's just my opinion. Other's used backcombing and a crochet hook (which is the first thing I tried cos I thought it'd be…

Loving My Dreads - Especially Now That I Have My Organic Dread Bar!

So I just got excited because I just discovered that I have a blog here! Eeee! Okay, on to writing:

I am almost two full weeks into my dread journey and I am so in love with my natural dreads. I have found freedom through this method of dreading instead of the confinement of the constant maintenance I felt I needed…

Quickly approaching a month

Ok sooo, I haven't made a post about the actual 3 week mark or the 4 week mark, so I'm going to lump them together since there are 4 weeks in a month and September is almost over *tear.

Umm so the back and the sides are progressing more rapidly than the top is.. That's kinda cool haha. And I have noticed my inner beauty shining through :D people have been nicer to me and a lady at my church (whom I rarely talk to) said that I had pretty skin the other day.. I thought that was sweet of…

Dread Journey

From June 22nd- day one till NOW, um, July 3rd... it's been a week and a half since I've had my WHOLE head dreaded.. and I am lovin' every minute of it.

I even got a COMPLIMENT on my locs today at IHop!

Washing time is cut 3/4.. I only wash my hair like once a week, with about 2 Tbsp baking soda dissolved in about a quart of water scrubbed into scalp. I rinse it with clean water and then pour over a mix of about 2 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar with about 4 Tbsp Sea…

Week Four AND Five Vegetarian.

okay, last Friday I was very distracted by someone, so I had completely forgotten about this...Anywho, I've made it five weeks without being made to eat meat, or eating it on my own. Yay for me, right??? I'm all excited and stuff. My family is cooking meat as I am writing this, and I feel so sick to my tummach that it is not even funny, I used to be hungry, not i don't feel too well, but ima open the window that I am sitting by..anywho, ah, that's…
