Profile Information

About Me
I'm an artist, and mama to Miles Lighthorse (5)and Ivy Tallulah (2) in Southern California. My family are Choctaw from Southeastern Oklahoma. My great grandfather was full blood and a translator for the courts. His father was a tribal policeman for the Choctaw Lighthorseman. I'm 39 and have been walking a medicine path for most of my adult life. I was not raised in the tradition of my ancestors and have had to find my own way.
How long have you been dreading?
6 months
Dreading methods, maintenance, and products used (if you currently have dreads)
my dreads are more groomed, i maintain them myself, but occasionally go in for help with the back. i wash once every couple of weeks, usually with dr. bronner's peppermint or a tea tree shampoo or ACV rinse.

ok well thats..poinless but not too harmful but yoiu see.. loops are nesacary..palm rolling however does nothing at all without loops theyre not dreading thats how they dread  the loops almost all go away on theyre ownsop your payimng to have something done that literaly does nothing and never needs to be done at all the seperating is all that needs to be done ever and that yu cando by feel just do it while wet after every wash and it wont hurt if u do uit every wash

i was afraid shesd be doing crochet iokr interlocking or worse  so at least u found 1 whos not terible like most,...just pointless like all save your money save the time just seperatethem let them dread they should be wild at 6 months trying to control thats counter productive  by  a year they settle down and become mature the loops suck in  and disapear the roots tighten up  and behave u gotta trust in the processs dreads dread they are not forced

welcome but umm how do u 'groom' them and why would u need help

they should be extremely easy to care for almost effortless

a;llmost anythimg u do do will only cause harm and make them take more work to maintain
