Question for the you guys out there: How in the world do you manage to put on hats? Can you? I realize some of us have thinner dreadlocks than other, but in my case, they're pretty darn thick. Now,…Continue

So, uh, should I split this or what?

Started this discussion. Last reply by Patrick Aug 5, 2011. 5 Replies

Hey everybody. How's it going? Well, I've got this one dread towards the front that I'm kind of iffy about splitting. You see, I've already separated the end(kind of did it on it's own), and it's…Continue

I'm in need of an elastic. No plastic.

Recently started college and even more recently began job searching. I'm positive my hair is going to raise some concern, whether I like it or not. I'm not too upset about that. Problem is, my hair is, well, very thick. It makes it a bit difficult to tie back, and until I start getting paychecks, I don't think I'll be able to buy a tam. I can tie the hair on the top of my head with simple fabric, but the sides need something a bit... tougher. Anyone know where I can purchase a cheap elastic…See More

How long have you been dreading?
Approximately 15 months. I started from scratch in June 2010.
Dreading methods, maintenance, and products used (if you currently have dreads)
"Johnny Clean" method. Washed out wax within two days, since it felt so disgusting. Tried twist and rip once, but everything just came out(sections I wanted were too big, I suppose), since then, I've just gone neglect.

Update?

My camera's out of comission, but hopefully I'll be able to update with some pictures soon. It's been a year today. Looking back on my pictures, it's pretty cool how different I look. My shorter hair looks crazy.
