Y'all can call me Mars:)

Well hi. I'm obviously new. I stumbled upon this site accidentally somehow, googling something or other. I think it was actually after I had noticed my hair started dreading all on its own, and I…Continue

About Me
I suck at about-me type shit.
I'm Mars. I'm 18. I accidentally started dreading my hair just by not conditioning/brushing it because I'm lazy and always putting a beanie on right after I get out of the shower. I decided to just go with it because I've always liked dreads anyway. Funnily enough I had tried to dread it myself once before, spent 4 hours on twisting/ripping and only like 6 of them actually held because the rest of my hair was too short. Then I just gave up. Weirdly, this time around, the first dread that even started to form was a chunk of hair that was even shorter than the ones that fell out the first time.
*thumbs up*
How long have you been dreading?
I never really intentionally did it. But my boyfriend pointed my first dread out to me like a month ago. I didn't even notice it before that.
Dreading methods, maintenance, and products used (if you currently have dreads)
Nothing. I wash my hair almost every day, skip a day once or twice a week (my days off usually) and wear a wool hat a lot. I don't condition or brush it and I pretty much just ignore the fact that it exists. I use regular shampoo (gonna switch to a non-residue as soon as I have a few bucks to get it, just so that once they REALLY start to dread there isn't shit piled up in there)
I only have like 6 or 7 that are noticeably dreading themselves, and they're thin, because I have really fine straight hair, but I have a LOT of it. I notice new little knots starting to form on nearly a daily basis and the ones that are already legitimately there are thickening/locking more rapidly than I've ever really heard of them doing. Lucky I guess?
Basically neglect method.
I'm just going to call it the Accidental Method haha.

Not really sure why they have the 21 thing. I remember there being a reason before, but I've been buying fromt he for years and I forget exactly.  You set up an account with them and pay through online checks.  so I guess they can check through that how old you are

https://www.senecasmokeshop.com/oasiscrm/shopping.asp?Directive=ItemList&Parent=CIGS&Category=Seneca.

I like their Seneca brand, but you can see if any of their others look good.  Seneca's taste kind like a mix between USA and Marlboro.  I usually smoke American Spirits and love Seneca's

I hear you.  I'm out of a job right now.  SO the little I get from unemployment goes to bills, cigs and groceries too.  But if you are willing to give it a shot, and have a checking account, you can buy cigs online from the Seneca Nation in New York.  They are a sovereign nation, so they don't pay taxes.  I get packs of cigs for less than $3.

I love the "accidental" method.  That's great.  If you stop washing every day, you'll use less shampoo.  That'll save you enough money to get a non residue shampoo.  Or you can use the baking soda/apple cider vinegar wash.  That is super cheap.  The oils are the most expensive part, and they'll last you a while too
