Hi all! I'm Jackie and i'm new to the site. i've been researching dreads for some time now, and always find myself gravitating toward this site. i am going to be putting in my 2nd set of dreads probably next week. my first set i combed out 10 years ago because i was afraid of what people thought. i think i'm ready to really commit to dreads this time. 'wish i could write more, but the natives(kids) are getting restless. :) peace and blessings!

yea thats quite the dramatic climate change, I'm sure some wild ones will be a lot more acclimated. Sounds exciting, id be so stoked. And yes i just started playing it. I've done a couple recordings with flute and acoustic guitar and i have to say it sounds pretty awesome. when i got a couple tracks ill post them somewhere for people to check out. I ordered mine online from a Navajo, Jonah Thompson, who hand carves and tunes them. They're pretty well priced and you can find lots of secondary sellers on sites like ebay and what not. And imma check out that site right after i send this lol, sounds awesome. I can't wait to go raw. And of course my dreads... they aren't doing too much lol but I'm in no hurry. Im still recovering from my accident and haven't been able to do my usual activities so they're not getting much weathering. I haven't noticed any knots yet but its definitely beginning to separate into sections that are just like twisting together. Usually I'm a beach bum so I'm not worried, as soon as I'm out of my braces they'll knot up in no time. I remember having dreads after one surf session before lol. Yours are looking awesome! Im only 3 weeks in but ill post a pic after a month.

Heey, great! That's so nice you had the time to read about Werbeck. Yeah, it truly is amazing, singing I mean. This is absolutely the path I need to take in my life right now. I'm so happy. :)

Dread journey is going well, as well. :) I quit thinking about my hair so much during the last months, because of all the singing things and everything. But this is good.

I just started my summer job at a quite a conservative office, but I keep my hair in quite a tight bun so people can't really see my dreads (I can't afford to lose this job). This week I got some unpleasant feelings of uncertainty.. but I got over those feelings and realized that dreads and singing are much more my "thing" than the office. :D So, I just have to keep it cool for three months and then things will be easier again.

That's funny about your husband =)  Mine is cool with it.  Actually, around week 3 we were going for a walk... well, I was walking the dog and he was on his longboard and he kept stopping to walk with me.  I told him he didn't have to if he wanted to skate ahead.  He says, "well, I know... but, I want people to know that i'm with this cool chick"  So I guess that meant he likes them.

Wow, sounds cool! I sing mostly classical music, I'm a Bach-girl alright. :D And other old music is near to my heart as well. Yeah, I study Werbeck-singing, and plan to become a teacher one day. :) Here is link, which explains the method a bit, if your interested: http://www.musicforjoyandhealing.com/voicemethod/

Sounds brilliant! It's a shame the bees are disappearing. And I haven't seen so many butterflies in the past couple of years either. Who'd pollinate and make our world pretty without them. You'll be doing your bit for the planet =)
