Ever try to fit your dreads under a bike helmet, or swim the .5 Mile pulling big heavy sponges behind you? Talk about it here.

Well, I don't shave any part of my body, but I still love the idea of tattoos. I have a pick n poke and I intend to get a professional one soon. It's not just about looking unique and standing out, though that's a lot of peoples' motivations for a t…

Profile Information

about me
I am a 25 year old raw vegan from NJ. I own a raw vegan restaurant in Frenchtown NJ and am a Live Food Nutritional guide/consultant.
I a currently working on two new books and I am setting up to franchise my restaurant so that people all over the country can have easy access to delicious organic raw vegan cuisine.
I started my locks in the beginning of August '09 and unfortunately I went against my intuition and started them by backcombing. For me, appearance is important because I am working with mainstream society to develop raw vegan programs in all types of situations. I work with schools, treatment centers, doctors offices, etc. and my specialty is being able to infiltrate that part of society and slowly bring them all back to nature.
I backcombed because I thought that the natural method would take to long and look too messy for me to be able to go to meetings with people who couldn't stop looking at my head. I was wise enough to know that wax was a bad idea so I spared my hair of that catastrophe.
I read a post by soaring eagle on another forum and he made a lot of sense. As soon as I read his post I took out all the rubber bands and threw on a Tam so that my hair still has a chance to thrive.
I am looking for guidance from veteran dreads who can help me to maintain my hair in as natural and earth friendly a way as I take care of my body.
My passion is radiant health through a 100% plant based raw food diet. I do not agree with superfoods and supplements (even "raw" ones). To me, raw supplements are just like "natural" dread wax and bands. Sure they may be great in the short run but they are not sustainable and they are not on mother natures menu.
I would be happy to help anyone here with their diets and health while I am here to work on my hair.

Mourning a lost love; embracing a new friendship

We tend to become attached to people in life. When someone is "gone" we mourn them. When someone we love dies we have to accept that they are gone and be happy that they are moving on. If we have a deep understanding of the nature of the universe we know that we are all just passing through. We know that we are the ones who perceive their passing as a "loss", but they are on a beautiful new journey.
Even with the deepest understanding we feel the pain of our loss. We mourn the times we shared, t… Continue

The Naked Truth

When did people start to wear clothes, and why?

The only real purpose that is served by clothing is to keep us comfortable in in-climate weather. Why are we the only species on the planet that wears clothes?

Every creature on this planet was born with the covering to suit that creatures natural habitat. A polar bear would die of heatstroke in the jungle, just as a hippopotamus would freeze to death in the arctic.

Our natural covering requires that we maintain an average external temperature g… Continue

hey man. i love your profile info. im personally not a vegan(only cause i wouldnt have the strength to avoid certain foods liek vegans do) but i repsect everything you said and agree with all of it. also i read a post of yours in a discussion about speaking out against drinking and drugs? at least i think it said that lol if not ignore this next part. but i true have a passion for speaking out against drugs and alcohol of any form. and its nice to see someone else who does the same. almost everyone has their vice in those aresa these days. depresses me
