What should I wash my dreads with?

I've heard people using many different things to wash their dreads and was wondering what people recommend.

Dread Growout

Posted on July 3, 2010 at 12:31am 7 Comments

When my hair grows out will it dread by itself or is there something I have to do in order to make my hair dread?

Rubberband Time.

Posted on July 2, 2010 at 8:33pm 5 Comments

I have rubber bands in my hair and was wondering if taking them out a few days after I've gotten dreads would mess them up in any way?

Is wax bad?

Posted on July 2, 2010 at 8:30pm 11 Comments

Should I use wax or not? Because I've seen many people say they use wax and other say that wax is horrible for dreads..

No.. I never used any special products. Wax was used a little bit twice in my dreads when I first got them.. But for the past 6 months I'd say its just been minimal palm rolling and just checking the roots to make sure there not dreading into one another and I'd just tear the little bits that started attaching elsewhere. Other than that.. I dont do shiyaat to em. Lol ;)

just leave the haitr alone it will dread on its own but your top priority must be wax removal asap now thats next to imposible its evil stuff if your under a couple weeks in you might be best off combing them out getting the wax out and starting over but if you cant do thwst be agressive start by reading the wax removal threads here you want to try heat to mely it out then soap asnd dissolvents if u use any instant messangers add me lets talk
umm dawn dish soap or a natural laundry soap might wssh aloty out
