I have head my "dreads" (more like glued together, dread look-a-likes) for one year... Well, July 25th would have been one year on the dot.I went to a salon because at the time I, like most of the…Continue

Profile Information

About Me
I'm 19... I live in boring Elgin, IL... There's pretty much nothing to do out here but go see movies at the theater ($10 a pop!), go to the ghetto mall, or party... I love art..til I get frustrated.. x]

I'm a sophomore in college right now. I'm going to be an art teacher, preferably high school level please.

I am definitely not religious, atheist to be exact. I believe in evolution.
I think all living things are connected.

I do my best to care for the Earth, but I'm definitely not perfect (..I'm a smoker..=/)... I AM a vegetarian, however, and have been one for a little over a year now...Maybe one day I'll have the guts to go Vegan, but right now... well, I love cheese. :)
I've wanted dreads for years and finally got em! (Back in July)...

Um.. I'm pretty addicted to my xbox 360 right now (particularly Halo3 & COD 4)... If you have a Live account, lemme know. :)

In the summer I like to walk around forest preserves.. and chill outside... I skateboard sometimes too.

Um.. I'm also a HUGE fan of old music... But the original reason I wanted dreads had to do with KoRn. :D
How long have you been dreading?
6-7 months.

I had them for about 5-6 months. There was about 18 of them in total. It was tough and took a few days, but i got there in the end and now I have my new set and I'm much more comfortable in them

sent the salon this message
subject : learn to do dreads right or stop destroying dreads
message: im sick and tired of cleaning up your waxy messes
im tired of hearing i was scammed out of 300 bucks and now have to shave my head
wax never belongs in dreads it destroys dreads
you have received a very negative review from one of your victims on our site
it will be removed if u discontinue all wax use and all harmful methods

About two years back i bought the dreadheadhq kit and done a few dreads using the wax. Ihad the same problem with combing them out, but I gave them a long dry under the blow dryer and it really helped. The hair will break a little, but it won't be as much as you think. And don't worry if loads of hair comes out with the dreads, the majority of it will just be the natural hair shed that normally falls out, but has stayed within the dread
