Today I cut off a dread in order to make a shaved spot on the side of my head. Out of curiosity I decided to cut it open to see what it looks like on the inside. I was a bit disturbed. My dreads are a year old but I take pretty good care of them. I wash them with residue-free dread shampoo (from dreadlockshampoo.com) and yesterday I did a 30 minute bs/teatree oil soak followed by a 5 minute acv soak. This year flew by! Can't believe my babies are a year old already. They have come a long way!

- How long have you been dreading?
- Since mid March 2012
- Dreading methods, maintenance, and products used (if you currently have dreads)
- I used twist & rip method and I wash my hair with baking soda. I also have a bottle of DreadHead shampoo that i occasionally use. Other than washing and separating I do minimal maintenance to my dreadlocks.
