My first attempt at dreads I dreaded my whole head using dread wax (EWWWWWW!) and I used TONS of wax (this was years ago) Talk about a greasy nasty mess! Within 3 months my dreads were molding and stinking. NEVER USE WAX!!!! Yukky!!

They took like 8-12 months to lock up. But I fear 100% commitment to anything (except Meiki LOL) so I've been dreading for 2 years but just a few at a time. Some of my dreads are only a few months old, some are almost 2 years old and as you can see I still don't have a lot of dreads in the front. I'll never dread my bangs but I will dread the sides...eventually, a few at a time.

Thanks grittyjane! Yours look pretty cute too!! I still don't have the front of my head locked....it's a fear of 100% commitment LOL! I'll post front pics later. My dreads range in age from 2 months to almost 2 years.
