Welcome Valentino. Welcome to the site. Hope you listen to the guys if you plan to have dreads for years to come. Peace.

Welcome. Eagle's right. Wax only acts to prevent locks from ever maturing. It creates an illusion of matured locks because your hair is glued together and feels tight as the wax dries ans hardens. but as long as wax is in there, they will never progress passed the first day you put it on.

And because wax is a hydrocarbon, it will NEVER wash out in normal soap and water. You need a detergent and tons of scrubbing to get wax out of your hair. If you need help, I'd be more than happy to give you some pointers on how to start.
