Palm rolling puts tension on the roots of your locks. If even just a little bit. It pulls hairs our a few at a time. This makes the roots thinner and thinner. Because it takes just a long for the new hair to replace the hair (that was ripped out) and the lock to grow, they will never reconnect and tangle again. This means that whatever hair is in your lock weighs what it weighs, but the root gets thinner and thinner. Until it is too thin that the weight of the lock itself is too much for the root to hold and it falls off.
This damage is done almost right away, but it can take up to a year to see it because it takes that long for your hair to grow out enough to see it. If you keep doing it regularly, after a year, you will have already, either lost a few locks, or will be so far damaged, that you can't fix it.
welcome definately stop the palm rolling if u do it everytime u wash your going to do alot of harm
Welcome. But don't bother palm rolling. At best, it won't do anything. But if you do it every day, it will create irrevocable damage. Se what only 2 weeks of it did to my locks: http://www.dreadlockssite.com/video/why-not-to-palm-roll
