Hello,

So all you have to do to make dread beads using polymer clay. Is buy yourself some polymer clay at a craft store. You can shape the beads around a skewer of a pencil or around the size of the hole you want them to be.

I would suggest getting a toaster oven just for baking your polymer clay dread beads and not use the same one you use for baking food. After they are done baking according to the recommended instructions on the polymer clay package you can paiint designs on them, glue rhinestone on them, add glitter to them or keep them simple.

I will post some photos soon of the step by step process once I get some more clay.

As for making your dreads thicker I just let mine congo so the skinnier ones get fatter just by joining with the a bigger one.

And I suggest eating lots of fresh raw fruits and vegetables for healthier dreadlock growth. I don't eat meat and I drink lots of water. I use rosemary tea rinses which I make myself using my freshly grown rosemary from my garden. According to all of the herb books that I have rosemary is excellent for hair groth and hair strength. And not to mention it makes your dread smell delightful. The herb horsetail is good for promoting hair growth as well.

And also patience it the key. Once you stop paying a ton attention to your locks the begin to grow really fast. Lots of time in nature, getting lots of exercise each day and plenty of rest will help as well.

Hope this all helps. And don't be shy ask me any question you like!

Brightest Blessings,

Trina :)

Thank you for the nice words regarding my locks. I just let them freeform ever since 1998. I did seperate them in the beginning but as time went onI stopped because I like them better thick. I see from your profile that you use crochet hook and palm rolling. I would just abandon both and just let them form naturally. I learned in all the years of having my dreads that you just need to keep it simple and believe me I did things to them in the past that I will never do again. Like I used a little wax in the front in the very beginning and I also use chemical dye on them which was a disaster from my dreads. Some dreads broke off from it so they would've been longer if I would've just left them alone. So just keep it natural and if you must do anything to them maybe buy or make a hat for them. Put some beads on them. And oh,yeah, I did make myown beads. They are pretty easy to make. If you want to know more about making dread beads or anything dread related feel free to ask. :)

Just take heed to the words of Bob Marley to just wash them and then leave them alone.

In my own words I would like to say to you that you are on a brave and wonderful journey into finding your natural self. It is not about trying it is just about doing. And you are doing it and by looking at your photos you look happy for embarking on this awesome journey!

Brightest Blessings,

Trina Sandress :):):)
