backcombing just preps your hair for dreads, it's not going to lock up immediately. read up on the dreaducations tabs & methods up top. just wash your hair with bs/acv or non-residue (or dreadlock) shampoos every 2-3 days & separate as needed. the knots will come in time, be patient & allow your hair to be free & form.
