Welcome. Unfortunately, wax will stop all locking. It only creates an illusion of locks. Because it's sticky, it "glues" your hair down, and prevents loops, tangles, and knots. Without those, no locks form.

And because wax is a hydrocarbon, it will NEVER wash out in normal soap and water. You need a detergent to clean out wax. If it's left in there, water will get trapped, and start to decompose your hair while it's still stuck to your head

welcome but wax is a huge mistake

wax prevents them from dreading and will cai-=use them to rot u gotr to remove all traces of wax wich is extremely hard to do..wax is as dread killer
