Brand New to Dreading
Hello everybody. I am brand new to the dread community here and would like to introduce myself: I am a curly-haired man and am very excited to start my journey. I already backcombed 10 dreads on the side of my head tonight. The dreads seem very loose and tend to undo themselves. Any advice on how to stop this from happening, or how to tighten up the locks quicker? I heard palm rolling with salt helps them lock up. Right now I love the way my curly hair expresses itself in dreads! ...Excuse the ridiculous look, these are brand new, b aby dreads! Will these undo as I sleep? Any quicker locking methods?
Thank you
-M
I am undoing them now.
Thank you! I will try that method. I wish I'd known this earlier, taking these backcombs out are difficult! lol
With curly hair, the neglect / free form method is the best. That means you do nothing! You wash 2-3 times a week and let the hair section naturally, all by itself. It will start to form dreadlocks all by itself. Truly an amazing journey....peace
So after I comb out the back-combed strands, what method do you recommend? I'm confused.

and withoit looking like a goofy clown
stop thinking faster is better in the case of dreads the more u rush them the worse they are u can simply stop combing and that hair will dread itself thats the best way by far
do not palm roll
1 it does nothing
2 it does permenant harm
sea salt as a spray (same salinity aas ocean water) does speed it a lil
but with your hair
comb out the backcombed stop combing it will dread itself real fast and healthy as canb-n be
